MIC upbeat over its support from Indians - The Star

MIC is confident of regaining the support of Indians given the hard work the party has put in to deal with their issues, Tamil Nesan reported.

Deputy president Dr S. Subramaniam was quoted as saying that the Cabinet Committee on Indian Affairs that was formed in 2008 had carried out numerous programmes to change the community's perception of the Barisan Nasional.

He believed that some 60% to 70% of Indian voters supported Barisan, pointing out that this was higher than the 40% average in 2008.

Under the committee, Subramaniam said, many issues had been dealt with such as the RM235mil allocation to build and upgrade Tamil schools.
